We know that a lot of you are planning on going to Walt Disney World in the next few months
. Make sure that you check the list of attractions that will be closed for refurbishment, so that you are not disappointed while you are there. The list is always changing so make sure to check before you leave. Not all closures are scheduled, and there are countless reasons why an attraction might suddenly close. Below are the current lists.
Magic Kingdom:
- Monorail Shutdown – 11:30 AM – 6:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays starting April 12, 2016 on Thursdays
- Resort Beam Overnight Closures – 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM Mondays, 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM Tuesdays
- Express Beam Overnight Closures– 11:30 PM Sundays – 9:30 AM Mondays, 11:30 PM Mondays – 9:30 AM Tuesdays
- Big Thunder Mountain – August 8, 2016 – November 18, 2016
Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
- The monorail is under refurbishment and may have modified service or routes.
- Big Thunder Mountain – August 8, 2016 to November 18, 2016
- Pizza Planet – January 11, 2016 to Late 2016
- Phineas & Ferb meet and greet – closing permanently January 4, 2016
- Lightning McQueen & Tow Mater meet and greet – closing permanently January 4, 2016
- Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show closed permanently April 3, 2016
- Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure closed permanently April 3, 2016
- Meet and Greet: Mike and Sulley at Street of America closed permanently April 3, 2016
Epcot:
- My Magic+ Service Center located inside Innoventions East is now closed. You can visit Guest Relations in Future World or any of the FastPass kiosks.
- Maelstrom (aka new Frozen ride) – October 15, 2014 to TBD
- Soarin – January 4, 2016 until summer of 2016
- Circle of Life – February 7, 2016 to April 21, 2016
- Stave Church Gallery – April 18, 2016 to May 27,2016
- House of the Whispering Willows – May 2,2016- June 16, 2016
- Monorail- Epcot Beam Overnight Closures– 11:00 PM Sundays – 9:00 AM Mondays, 11:00 PM Mondays – 9:00 AM Tuesdays
Animal Kingdom:
- None at this time
Water Parks:
- None at this time
Disney Springs (a.k.a Downtown Disney):
- Fulton’s Crab House – April 4, 2016 to December 31, 2016
- Planet Hollywood – January 1, 2016 to June 1, 2016
- Downtown Disney Water Taxi will now only run from the Marketplace to the West Side Docks. There will be no stop at the Pleasure Island Dock.
- Parking Lots Entrance 2 Lots A-G closed from December 1, 2014 to August 1, 2016 due to the construction of Town Center and the East Garage.
- Buena Vista Drive is under construction in the Downtown Disney area. The road is being expanded to 10 lanes and several pedestrian bridges will be built and expected to be completed in March, 2016. Expect delays in this area.
